COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL BUILDING

Armstrong Construction

Armstrong Construction operates within the commercial and industrial building sectors, specialising in industrial buildings – including factories and warehouses – as well as commercial buildings such as office parks, shopping malls and retail developments.

The company has also built a solid reputation for the numerous rural projects it has completed.

Armstrong Construction was established in 1996 by David Armstrong, to take up opportunities in rural areas that were regularly passed up by larger construction companies.

Acquired by Erbacon Investment Holdings in 2008, the Group provides the resources and critical mass enabling Armstrong to tender for larger public and private sector projects in both KwaZulu-Natal and other major centres. A meaningful competitive edge when it comes to construction projects in rural areas (accounting for nearly half its revenue) positions Armstrong to extend capability beyond the private sector and tap into government expansion and investment projects.

With a staff complement of 600, its sophisticated structure enables the company to tackle large contracts in its chosen geographic markets.

Due to a strong Durban and Pietermaritzburg presence, the company has built up a successful and impressive private client base across KwaZulu-Natal, and is poised via new contracts and branch offices into other regions to significantly extend its geographical footprint.

Service

  • General construction of commercial and industrial buildings – specialising in the construction of industrial buildings (including factories and warehouses) and commercial buildings (including office parks, shopping malls, retail developments and residential developments).
  • Rural shopping centres – numerous rural projects have been completed, with a solid reputation built in respect of these types of projects. It is now well-positioned to tap into the anticipated Government expansion and private investment initiatives earmarked for such developments.
  • Ancillary services associated with such construction – a skilled team of contract managers, quantity surveyors and general foreman ensures that every aspect of any given construction project can be dealt with. The workshop, situated in Pietermaritzburg, is fully equipped and all plant and machinery maintenance is handled in-house.
