Civcon was established as a civils contractor in 1980 and operates in the mining construction and heavy industrial markets with its client base covering the majority of the mining houses, fertilizer and petro-chemical companies and heavy industry. Civcon’s key services include civil engineering construction, bulk earthworks and road construction, industrial and process plants, mining (surface and underground), mining infrastructure, and design and construction of turnkey industrial projects.
Erbacon entered into an agreement with Civcontract Civils (Pty) Limited (trading as Civcon) during 2009 in terms of which Erbacon acquired all the shares in the issued share capital of and all claims on shareholders’ loan account against Civcon from the Civcon vendors. On 1 March 2011 Erbacon Construction merged with Civcon to form one Civils Construction business, trading as Civcon. This resulted in improved optimisation of resources and expertise across all areas of the business.
Civcon operates on contract sites throughout the southern Africa region and the neighbouring states for a number of high profile clients. The company has the management and manpower skills available in-house to deal with all eventualities in demanding project work.
